Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through production deployment
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis using ANSYS and optimize structural performance under dynamic loads
- Develop robust manufacturing processes and tolerancing strategies for high-volume automotive components
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and supply chain resilience
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation including CAD models, BOMs, and test protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in automotive or heavy machinery design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM systems
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Certification in ANSYS Workbench or similar simulation tools
- Proven track record of reducing production costs by 15% through design optimization
- Experience with additive manufacturing integration in production environments
