Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS)
- Develop and optimize prototypes through rapid prototyping and testing methodologies
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural validation
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA principles are implemented
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for quality assurance
- Drive innovation in material selection and sustainable engineering practices
- Manage project timelines and deliverables within budget constraints
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in product design for automotive/aerospace sectors
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (FEA/CFD)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record of leading complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- Certification in Six Sigma or Project Management (PMP) a plus
- Experience with PLM systems and digital thread implementation
- Demonstrated ability to innovate under tight deadlines and changing requirements
