Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design: Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process, from initial concept sketches to final 3D modeling and detailed drawings.
- Product Development: Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) to create, iterate, and refine product prototypes.
- Testing & Validation: Design and conduct rigorous stress tests, thermal analysis, and functional validation to ensure product reliability and safety standards.
- Prototyping: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to oversee rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes (CNC, 3D printing, injection molding).
- Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly manuals, and compliance reports.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot design flaws and optimize existing systems for cost reduction and performance enhancement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD/CAM software.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and material properties.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
