Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design and prototyping of advanced UAV propulsion systems using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics analysis using FEA/CFD simulation tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with avionics and control systems
- Develop comprehensive test plans and oversee validation of mechanical subsystems
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and aerospace regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of composite materials and lightweight structural design
- Experience with vibration analysis and dynamic system testing
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept to certification
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
