Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process for new product introductions (NPI), including concept generation, detailed design, and DFMEA analysis.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create high-fidelity 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, ensuring strict adherence to GD&T standards.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical components into complex systems.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure structural integrity under load.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during the design review process.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables within the constraints of budget and schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the robotics, automotive, or consumer electronics industries.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Experience with prototyping methods (3D printing, injection molding) and test equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
