Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems for aerospace applications
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical solutions with electrical and software systems
- Design, prototype, and test mechanical components under extreme environmental conditions
- Develop detailed technical documentation including CAD drawings, BOMs, and test procedures
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to ensure quality standards
- Research and implement advanced materials and manufacturing techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and material science
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies
- Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from concept to production
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
