Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation to prototyping
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations using ANSYS/SolidWorks
- Optimize component designs for weight reduction, material efficiency, and manufacturability
- Develop detailed technical documentation including GD&T drawings and BOMs
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for compliance with AS9100 standards
- Interface with suppliers and manufacturing teams for prototype production
- Contribute to patent filings for novel mechanical solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards
- Demonstrated project management using Agile methodologies
- Active PE license (Professional Engineer)
