Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of complex mechanical systems and components using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis, to validate design integrity.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and project management, to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Perform feasibility studies and provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges while adhering to industry standards (GD&T, ISO, ASME).
- Participate in the prototyping process, working with machinists and vendors to ensure quality manufacturing.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD/CAM software with a strong portfolio of past work.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal).
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
