Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation including GD&T and assembly drawings
- Collaborate with test engineers to validate designs in vibration and environmental chambers
- Drive DFM initiatives to optimize cost and manufacturability of composite assemblies
- Mentor junior engineers while adhering to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years in aerospace/defense mechanical design
- Expertise in composite materials and metal fabrication processes
- Proficiency with ANSYS or Abaqus simulation tools
- Experience with DO-160 environmental certification standards
- Strong understanding of propulsion system integration
- Proven track record of launching complex hardware to production
