Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems from concept to production.
- Perform structural and thermal FEA analysis to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics and software engineering, to ensure seamless integration.
- Manage the creation of detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential failure points and optimize for manufacturing (DFM).
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support internal design standards.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting in the laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product design, specifically in robotics or automated machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software packages.
- Proven track record in performing complex FEA and motion simulations.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, 3D printing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile, iterative environment.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is considered a significant asset.
