Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of complex robotic arm assemblies and end-effectors from concept through production.
- Perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to maintain engineering excellence.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles and oversee physical testing of mechanical prototypes.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, including BOMs and manufacturing specifications.
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability (DFM), and assembly (DFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product design, preferably in robotics or precision machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Proven track record of taking complex mechanical projects from napkin sketch to market.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection, and high-precision machining tolerances.
- Experience with motion control systems, gearboxes, and servomotor integration.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
