Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through prototyping to production release
- Develop and optimize CAD models using SolidWorks and CATIA for high-performance automotive components
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate structural integrity and performance
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams on integrated system designs for EV powertrains
- Generate detailed engineering documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through DFM/DFA analysis and cost reduction strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to maintain quality standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of automotive industry experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with proven track record in complex assemblies
- Strong knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS, Nastran) and thermal management principles
- Experience with electric vehicle powertrain systems or battery thermal management preferred
- GD&T certification and familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standards
- Project management skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder presentations and technical documentation
