Responsibilities
- Design and develop intricate mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Conduct advanced FEA and thermal simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance under load.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to optimize components for cost-efficiency and quality.
- Select and qualify vendors for custom parts and sub-assemblies.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in mechanical design and technical documentation.
- Oversee prototype testing and iterate designs based on performance data and failure analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in high-precision mechanical design or robotics.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong knowledge of materials science, particularly in aluminum alloys, composites, and plastics.
- Demonstrated experience in electromechanical integration and motion control systems.
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
