We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of high-precision robotic components. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex theoretical concepts and robust, real-world engineering solutions. You will work in a collaborative environment with top-tier hardware and software engineers to shape the future of smart manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic subsystems from concept to production.
- Perform detailed structural and thermal analysis using FEA to ensure component reliability.
- Select high-performance materials and components optimized for weight, strength, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical assemblies with electronic and software modules.
- Create comprehensive CAD documentation and technical specifications for manufacturing partners.
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential failure points and implement iterative design improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design for high-precision machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX).
- Proven track record of taking complex mechanical projects through the full lifecycle into mass production.
- Deep understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, additive manufacturing), and assembly techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to prototyping and testing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced R&D environment.
