Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design and detailed engineering of mechanical aerospace components using CAD/CAE tools
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
- Develop and validate prototypes through rigorous testing protocols
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure producibility and cost optimization
- Create comprehensive technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Stay current with emerging aerospace technologies and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong analytical skills with FEA/CFD experience using ANSYS or equivalent
- Understanding of AS9100 and FAA certification requirements
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems from concept to production
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills
