Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and aerodynamic optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger platforms
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation including GD&T drawings and BOMs
- Conduct prototype testing and validation in state-of-the-art labs
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or defense
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation software
- Strong understanding of ASME standards and manufacturing processes
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Demonstrated project leadership with complex system integration
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
