Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA)
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate structural integrity
- Develop detailed technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and assembly instructions
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production
- Research and implement innovative materials and manufacturing technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive/industrial products
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
- Proven track record in managing product development lifecycle
- Experience with lightweight materials (aluminum, composites) and additive manufacturing
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
