Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design lifecycle of robotic end-effectors and automated assembly platforms.
- Perform advanced structural and thermal FEA to validate component integrity under rigorous duty cycles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in electrical and software engineering to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles from conceptual CAD sketches to physical iterations.
- Develop detailed engineering documentation and BOMs for high-volume manufacturing.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Conduct root-cause analysis on field performance data to drive continuous product improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product design, specifically in robotics or precision machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or NX preferred).
- Strong background in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proven experience with FEA simulation tools such as Ansys or Simcenter.
- In-depth knowledge of material selection, including high-strength alloys and aerospace-grade polymers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines and technical deliverables independently.
