Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design lifecycle of complex robotic sub-systems from concept to production.
- Perform high-fidelity FEA and CFD simulations to optimize structural integrity and thermal management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and firmware engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Select and qualify advanced materials and mechanical components (actuators, bearings, sensors).
- Drive design reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices for DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Maintain rigorous adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality control requirements.
- Troubleshoot and refine prototypes during testing phases to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical system design, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or NX preferred).
- Proven track record in managing complex assembly design and precision kinematics.
- Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ANSI/ASME standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to hardware testing and validation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions in a team environment.
