Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and PDM systems.
- Conduct rigorous FEA and thermal analysis to ensure structural integrity under extreme operational loads.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews to ensure alignment with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
- Create and manage detailed technical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly documentation.
- Oversee rapid prototyping and coordinate with vendors to source high-tolerance, custom components.
- Optimize designs for DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) to reduce lead times.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in design verification and validation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in machine design or robotics.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection (metals and polymers).
- Proven track record in managing product lifecycles from concept through mass production.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience with motion control systems, gearboxes, or actuator design is highly desirable.
