Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle for aerospace components using SolidWorks and NX
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis using ANSYS to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T tolerances and BOM structures
- Conduct prototype testing and failure analysis in collaboration with QA teams
- Mentor junior engineers and optimize design workflows
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized materials and components
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-3108 and ASME Y14.5 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of aerospace experience
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks/NX) and simulation tools (ANSYS)
- Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
- Certification in ASME Y14.5 and GD&T principles
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing protocols
- Proven track record in leading complex design projects from concept to production
- Strong analytical skills with root cause analysis capabilities
- Active PE license preferred
