We are seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our elite engineering team in Austin, Texas. As a key member of our R&D division, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of mechanical product development, from initial concept sketches to final production certification. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists to deliver world-class products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of new products and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Conduct rigorous stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications adhering to ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and optimize assembly processes.
- Oversee prototype fabrication and conduct testing to validate design assumptions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS or similar simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of managing projects from concept to launch.
