Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies for automated manufacturing systems.
- Perform advanced structural and thermal FEA analysis to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers and software developers to integrate mechatronic systems.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and iterative design refinement cycles.
- Select and specify materials and components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and cost-efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the evolution of internal design standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME); Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, specifically in robotics or automated machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo).
- Proven track record in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Experience with motion control systems, actuators, sensors, and structural metal fabrication.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and experience with simulation software (ANSYS or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical design reviews.
