Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural optimization
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation including drawings, BOMs, and GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with R&D to test and validate prototypes in compliance with industry standards
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
- Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with systematic approach to complex challenges
- Effective communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration
- Knowledge of composites, advanced materials, and lightweight design principles
