Apex Robotics Systems is seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our core product development team in Detroit. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design lifecycle for next-generation robotic components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of precision engineering and industrial efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of complex robotic systems and sub-assemblies.
- Conduct advanced FEA and thermal simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance reliability.
- Select optimal materials and manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and injection molding.
- Direct the creation of comprehensive CAD models and technical drawing packages using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews to maintain engineering excellence across the department.
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Manage vendor relationships for prototyping and mass-production hardware components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical product design, preferably in robotics or precision machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or PTC Creo.
- Proven track record of taking products from initial concept through to successful production.
- Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing design standards.
- Experience with motion control systems, actuators, and sensor integration is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
