Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of robotic systems using SolidWorks and NX CAD platforms
- Perform FEA/thermal analysis to validate structural integrity and optimize performance
- Collaborate with electrical/software teams on integrated system architecture
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation including GD&T drawings and BOMs
- Design and execute prototype testing plans for validation and continuous improvement
- Mentor junior engineers and drive design best practices across the department
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing techniques for competitive advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for electromechanical systems
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and NX with complex assembly modeling
- Proven track record with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
- Experience with motion systems, actuators, and precision mechanisms
- Excellent problem-solving skills with systematic root cause analysis
- Agile development methodology familiarity
