Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace propulsion systems using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Execute FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Develop manufacturing processes and assembly documentation for complex components
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for compliance with AS9100 standards
- Collaborate with suppliers to source specialized materials and components
- Validate prototypes through rigorous testing and failure analysis
- Optimize designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency, and manufacturability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-performance industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Deep understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and material science principles
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from concept to production
- Experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining)
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving methodology
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
