Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of propulsion components using CAD/CAE tools
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed engineering specifications and manufacturing documentation
- Collaborate with material scientists to optimize component performance
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
- Test prototypes and validate designs through rigorous experimentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, stress analysis, and vibration dynamics
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, composites, additive manufacturing)
- Experience with DO-160 aerospace environmental standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
