Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from conceptualization to prototyping, utilizing advanced CAD tools
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to optimize structural integrity and performance
- Develop comprehensive design documentation including BOMs, GD&T specifications, and manufacturing drawings
- Collaborate with materials science team to implement novel composites and lightweight alloys
- Validate designs through rigorous testing protocols and failure mode analysis
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design methodologies and toolchains
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-performance industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation suite
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
- Experience with composites manufacturing and structural testing methodologies
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams
