Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping and production
- Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical documentation using SolidWorks
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate designs
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate innovative materials and manufacturing techniques
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for quality assurance
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance targets
- Interface with suppliers to source components and validate manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive mechanical design experience in automotive or industrial sectors
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, and APQP processes
- Proven track record of leading complex product development from concept to launch
- Knowledge of composites, lightweight materials, and additive manufacturing
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
