Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept validation to production implementation
- Utilize CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS) for complex component and system modeling
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for DFM/DFA principles
- Develop technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T drawings, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Demonstrated experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and tolerance analysis
- Experience with DO-160 environmental qualification testing standards
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems on schedule
