Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural validation
- Develop manufacturing processes and assembly procedures for precision components
- Collaborate with materials scientists to optimize material selection for extreme environments
- Create detailed technical documentation and engineering drawings per ASME standards
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Interface with test teams to validate prototypes and implement design modifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks/CATIA) and FEA tools (ANSYS/ABAQUS)
- Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Experience with composite materials, turbine systems, or propulsion components
- Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
