Responsibilities
- Lead conceptualization and prototyping of aerospace propulsion systems using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for high-pressure components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical systems
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and technical documentation
- Develop test plans and validate prototypes in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities
- Optimize designs for weight reduction, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and patent novel innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-tech mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation software
- Demonstrated success in leading complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes (machining, composites)
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Experience with DO-160 aerospace environmental standards required
