Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for automotive components and industrial machinery
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate product performance under real-world conditions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into robust engineering specifications
- Develop detailed design documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and manufacturing process plans
- Mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ASME standards
- Research and implement emerging materials and manufacturing technologies
- Present technical solutions to stakeholders and participate in design reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design for automotive or heavy machinery
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects from concept to production
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter) and agile development methodologies
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
- Experience with additive manufacturing and composite materials
