Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design process using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.
- Conduct detailed stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) on prototypes to validate structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and product managers to integrate mechanical systems into complex assemblies.
- Manage the full product development lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, and manufacturing hand-off documentation.
- Optimize existing product designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and weight reduction.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and provide technical leadership to junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing or robotics industry.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
