Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to production release
- Utilize SolidWorks and ANSYS for 3D modeling, FEA analysis, and thermal simulations
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs with GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with prototyping teams to validate designs through physical testing
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and performance
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing processes for competitive advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or heavy machinery
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of DFMEA, DFM, and APQP processes
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Experience with additive manufacturing and hybrid production methods
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and precision
