Job Description

Are you a visionary Electrical Engineer ready to shape the future of smart energy and hardware systems? At NexaGrid Technologies, we are building next-generation hardware architectures that power the transition to clean energy. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our high-performing R&D team in San Jose, CA.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end hardware development cycle—from concept and schematic capture through prototyping, testing, and volume manufacturing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in firmware, mechanical engineering, and product management to bring revolutionary hardware products to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex high-speed digital, analog, and power electronics circuits from concept to production.
  • Lead schematic capture, PCB layout design, and multi-layer board stack-up optimization using Altium Designer.
  • Perform simulation and analysis (SPICE, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal modeling) to validate design robustness.
  • Coordinate with global manufacturing partners (PCBA) for design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testing (DFT).
  • Lead board bring-up, hardware debugging, and hands-on laboratory testing using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • Drive EMI/EMC compliance testing and pre-compliance debugging to ensure global regulatory certifications (FCC, CE, UL).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware development, circuit design, and PCB layout (Altium Designer preferred).
  • Proven track record of launching commercial hardware products from initial prototype to volume manufacturing.
  • Deep expertise in high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and high-density interconnect (HDI) PCB design.
  • Strong background in analog circuit design, power management (DC-DC converters, LDOs), and microcontroller integration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineering staff.
