Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using CAD (SolidWorks) and simulation tools (ANSYS)
- Develop and optimize complex assemblies for extreme environments (thermal, pressure, vibration)
- Conduct FMEA analysis and root cause investigations for critical components
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers for prototype fabrication and material selection
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA regulations
- Present technical findings to stakeholders and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and finite element analysis
- Proven track record of successful product launches from concept to production
- Deep understanding of material science (composites, alloys, polymers)
- Certification in AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with Six Sigma or DFMEA experience
- Ability to obtain security clearance (if required for defense projects)
