Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs for precision aerospace components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost
- Conduct root cause analysis of field failures and implement robust design improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in mechanical design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of aerospace or high-precision manufacturing experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS with proven portfolio of complex assemblies
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and DFMEA methodologies
- Experience with composite materials, sheet metal design, and CNC machining processes
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with Six Sigma or DFSS certification a plus
