Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to production
- Create detailed CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks and PTC Creo
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural and thermal analysis
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize for DFM/DFA principles
- Develop test protocols and validate designs through prototype testing
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Interface with suppliers to source critical components
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs and GD&T
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical product design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PTC Creo
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Experience with aerospace or high-volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Proven project leadership with complex assemblies
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
