Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design and detailed CAD modeling of lightweight aerospace components using SolidWorks
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate structural integrity
- Develop manufacturing processes and collaborate with production teams for seamless implementation
- Conduct prototype testing and iterate designs based on performance data
- Generate technical documentation including assembly drawings and BOMs
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of aerospace/defense experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Proven track record in developing high-precision mechanical systems
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and tolerance analysis
- Experience with wind tunnel testing and experimental validation
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
