Apex Robotics Systems is seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation robotic platforms. Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle mechanical design of robotic components from concept through to production.
- Perform structural and thermal FEA analysis to validate designs and ensure system reliability under stress.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Oversee rapid prototyping efforts, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Define and maintain technical specifications, GD&T standards, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Manage vendor relationships for outsourced components and ensure quality control standards are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design for automation or aerospace sectors.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX).
- Proven track record in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Deep understanding of materials science, including aluminum alloys, carbon fiber, and high-performance polymers.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical design and project management.
