Job Description
Join the future of industrial automation at Apex Robotics. We are seeking an innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of next-generation robotic systems. You will work at the intersection of high-precision mechanics and cutting-edge software to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end product lifecycles, from initial concept through prototype testing and final production implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies for robotic platforms.
- Conduct rigorous FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure structural integrity and component longevity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and firmware engineers, to integrate system components.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure high-precision assembly and operation.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles using additive manufacturing and CNC machining.
- Oversee design reviews and ensure adherence to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) best practices.
- Mentor junior engineering staff on best-in-class CAD methodologies and mechanical design standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in high-precision mechanical design.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
- Strong background in gear systems, actuators, and motion control hardware.
- Proven track record of taking products from concept to successful commercial launch.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing.
