Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic assemblies from concept to mass production.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks/NX) to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity and component longevity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and firmware engineers, to achieve seamless system integration.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing protocols, and iterative design improvements.
- Manage vendor relationships and supply chain interactions to ensure component quality and availability.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and conduct peer design reviews to maintain engineering excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product design, preferably in robotics, automotive, or high-precision machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD modeling (SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo) and PDM systems.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Proven track record of designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Hands-on experience with material selection, thermal management, and drivetrain design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
