Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of robotic sub-assemblies from conceptualization to production.
- Perform rigorous stress, thermal, and kinematic analysis to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to integrate complex electromechanical systems.
- Create and maintain high-fidelity 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles and evaluate design feasibility through physical testing and validation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance part efficiency, weight reduction, and manufacturability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior design team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design for complex electromechanical systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software packages.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection (metals and polymers).
- Proven track record of managing design projects through to high-volume manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping methods including 3D printing and CNC machining.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
