Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and PDM workflows.
- Lead thermal and structural stress analysis (FEA) to ensure system reliability under extreme operational loads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, electrical, and systems engineering.
- Oversee rapid prototyping and iterate designs based on performance testing and manufacturing feedback.
- Manage technical documentation, including BOMs, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Mentor junior engineering staff on best practices for design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality or efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automotive automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME standards.
- Proven ability to perform static and dynamic analysis using simulation software.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
