Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of robotic subsystems from conceptualization to production.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks/NX) to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity and thermal optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics and software engineering, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles and evaluate material selection for high-stress industrial applications.
- Oversee design validation testing (DVT) and implement engineering change orders (ECOs) as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in mechanical design and GD&T.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics or aerospace.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Strong command of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Proven track record of taking complex electro-mechanical assemblies from prototype to mass production.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a high-paced, agile environment.
