Responsibilities
- Lead the full-lifecycle design of robotic sub-assemblies from conceptualization to mass production.
- Perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to ensure structural integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional electrical and software teams to integrate complex mechatronic systems.
- Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements for manufacturing partners.
- Conduct design reviews and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to optimize product reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships for prototyping and custom component sourcing.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automotive manufacturing.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX).
- Proven track record of taking complex mechanical projects from initial concept to commercial release.
- Strong understanding of material selection, heat treatment processes, and surface finishing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical presentations.
- P.E. license or EIT certification is highly desirable.
