Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Develop detailed technical documentation including BOMs and assembly drawings
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Research emerging materials and technologies for system optimization
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years in mechanical design for aerospace/defense
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Certification in AS9100 or similar quality systems
- Experience with composite material design and testing
- Proven project management with PMP or equivalent
- Clearance eligibility for government contracts
