Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic subsystems and end-effectors.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and technical specifications using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Conduct rigorous FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to validate structural integrity and thermal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage the prototyping phase, coordinating with machine shops and additive manufacturing vendors.
- Perform root cause analysis on design failures and implement continuous improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo/NX).
- Demonstrated experience in FEA/CFD simulation and GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
- Strong understanding of material properties, selection, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and optimize for precision.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in project management frameworks (Agile/Scrum).
